            The adorable Lord Chitragupta keeps a record of every deed. Kayasthas are adorable. Kayasthas originate from Lord Chitragupta. Chitragupta is the lord of wisdom born from the complete body of Brahma. He had two wives, one Brahmin and one Kshatri, which is why both characteristics are found in Kayasthas. No Kayastha touches the pen with Deepawali. They touch the pen only after worshiping the Lord. The descendants of Shri Chitragupta, who keep an account of the whole universe, have given great men in the field of knowledge and writing. In this dynasty, Swami Vivekananda, Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, Rajendra Prasad, Lal Bahadur Shastri, Firak Gorakhpuri, Amitabh Bachchan and thousands of great personalities who brought laurels to the name of India globally. The basic work of Kayasthas is to read and write. These descendants of Lord Chitragupta worship Kalam and write a new history from it.

This day is also known by the name of Yam Dwitiya which normally falls two days after Diwali festival. It is celebrated on the second day of Shukla Paksha in the month of Karthik.  

On this day, Bhai Dooj' is also celebrated where sisters pray and wish for the long life, health, wealth and prosperity of their brothers. The brothers in return takes a lifelong vow to protect their sisters. On the day of Bhai Dooj, brothers and sisters reaffirm their pious bonds of affection.
