The goddess is worshiped as Kushmanda on the fourth day in Navratri. This goddess has been named as Kushmanda because of its dim, light laughter causing the egg. When there was no creation, darkness was all around, then this goddess created the universe with her godly humor. That is why it has been called Adi Swaroopa or Adishakti of the universe. 

 

This goddess has eight arms, hence called Ashtabhuja. In his seven hands, respectively, there are kamandal, bow, arrow, lotus-flower, nectar-shaped urn, chakra and mace. In the eighth hand is a chanting rosary giving all siddhis and funds. 

 

The vehicle of this goddess is Leo and he is loved by the lion. In the culture, the potter is called Kushmand hence this goddess is Kushmanda. This goddess resides in the world within the solar system. Only he has the power to live in the sun. That is why the radiance and brilliance of his body is just as bright as that of the sun. Ten directions are highlighted by his sharpness. They have a strong influence in all the objects and beings of the universe. 

 

 Goddess Kushmanda on the fourth day of Navratri should be worshiped with a calm and holy heart. By this, the devotees destroy diseases and sufferings and get age, fame, strength and health. These goddesses give blessings by being pleased with minimal service and devotion. The one who worships with the right mind attains the ultimate rank with ease.
